Quiz 5

Shhhh, don't tell anyone but I got a look at the quiz.
This is what I saw

Factor the GCF - these are the 2 term factoring problems from 8.1
Factor by grouping - that's the "matchy thing and leftovers"
Factoring trinomials - most of them are "simple factoring" but there is at least one that is the special pattern from 8.4

no solving, must be saving that for the test

=)

I have a question (not related to this post). I understand how this works

a/b + c/d = (a * d) + (c * b) / (b * d)

but why does it work like that. I used this formula and got answer correct every time, thought it was pretty cool to use.

Also learned that this works for reducing...

6 / 8 can be reversed to 8 / 6. You take the remainder which is 2, and divide both 6 and 8 by 2 to get you the lowest reduction possible.

Is there any downside to using these methods?
